Sri Guru Granth Sahib (1409)

“Holy Bard Mathura presents the essence of
divine wisdom that the Lord has incarnated
Himself to emancipate the World.

Whosoever worships Guru Arjan Dev is liberated
from the painful cycle of birth and death.”

Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji was born at Goindwal Sahib in 1563 and was the youngest son of Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji. He ascended the sacred throne of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib at the age of eighteen and adorned it from 1581 to 1606.

Having built the Sacred Harimandir in the midst of the Holy Sarovar (tank), He compiled Sri Guru Granth Sahib and installed the same in Sri Harimandir Sahib. Shortly thereafter, He gave the supreme sacrifice.

This small Book is only a humble tribute at His Holy feet. Only some salients have been briefly touched upon.

	Sri Guru Amar Das Ji prays to the Lord,
	“O Lord, the world is on fire, save it, by Showering your Grace. Save it by whichever way it can be saved.

Whenever Jagat Guru Incarnates, He Incarnates for the whole world. His compassion is Universal and All-embracing.

The Third Nanak, Sri Guru Amar Das Ji prays to the Lord Almighty to save the world on fire.

All Merciful Sri Guru Arjan Sahib first compiles a Holy Scripture, eternally aglow with all Celestial Harmonies and totally free from all Cruel Diversities, for Universal Redemption. Then the Fifth Nanak (Sri Guru Arjan Sahib) sits on fire, to save the world on fire.
